Hello Katerina, we’re thrilled to interview you. Can you please tell us a little bit about you and your business?
Katerina Azarova: Thank you for your invitation, I’m happy to be here and share my story. For 15 years I worked as a Neurosurgery Physician Assistant, along with that I also loved engaging with fashion ideas, designing, decoration, art, and more whenever I had time. I got inspired by the stunning European children’s clothing, while I was on Maternity leave.
As a mother, I always want the best for my kids and the same goes for all parents. During that trip to the South of France (for my baby moon), I felt that children should have access to high-quality clothes. This motivated me towards starting the luxury clothing line Petite Maison Kids. I started the company in 2018 and now I’m proud to say that it is one of the favorite brands of many children, celebrities, bloggers, fashionistas, and more.
Can you please tell us about the rise of female entrepreneurship?
Katerina Azarova: Female entrepreneurship has come a long way, and is really important now, more than ever. Traditionally, women were never considered as good enough to run a successful business. I’m happy to be a part of changing that. As a woman and a Mom, who is better to know what our kids want and need? There are many benefits to women getting into business careers, such as gaining new skills and knowledge, increased networking opportunities, but most importantly is having more control over their careers and lives. However, there are also many challenges that female entrepreneurs face. Starting and running a successful business from scratch, while balancing being a Mom and Wife is a big one.
But now many women have shown that if you really desire to make something happen, there is nothing stopping you. The rise of female entrepreneurship has helped not only women to have successful careers and become financially independent, but also make an impact in the world. As a female/ woman there is always the part that is connected to mother nature. There is instinct and attention to detail that women excel in. Females in the business have created numerous environment-friendly companies and projects that often men tend to take no notice of. To make the planet a healthy living place and conscious community, there should be more females at the top.
What are the Challenges & Obstacles of Females in Business?
Katerina Azarova: There are many challenges that come with being a female entrepreneur. Biggest one for me is balancing being a Mom and a Wife together with running the business. I want to be there for my kids, I don’t want to miss raising them, so it’s often a challenge to find the time for everything. Another one of the most common, is feeling undervalued and not taken seriously by the business community. There is often a lack of support available from mentors or other business professionals. To overcome these challenges, it is important to find someone who can help navigate the waters of entrepreneurship and grow into the full potential of an entrepreneur. Another challenge is balancing your duty as a Mom and Wife, with your business.
With time and effort, most obstacles can be overcome. You can find success through trial and error, so there is no one-size-fits-all answer to this question. What works for one woman may not work for another; therefore, it is important to find what works best for you and your business goals.
Any Tips You would Like To Share For Making Female Entrepreneurship a Reality?
Katerina Azarova: There are several tips that can be useful when it comes to making female entrepreneurship a reality. One is always listening to your gut feelings. Trust yourself to know the best path to your dreams. But also, don’t turn down help and guidance when offered. Networking with other business professionals and finding out about resources, programs, and practices that may be beneficial. Finally, make sure you have strong communication skills in order to share ideas, insights, and strategies with others face-to-face or online. Learn to take criticism and grow from it. This will help build relationships and connect with potential investors, partners, and customers who may be able to assist you in becoming successful as a female entrepreneur.
How to Succeed as an Entrepreneur?
Katerina Azarova: The first step to being a successful entrepreneur is finding the right niche or business idea. If you have an interesting and innovative product or service, you may be able to find success in the business world. However, it can take a lot of hard work and perseverance to achieve success as an entrepreneur. To make your business sustainable, you’ll need to make sure that your business survives financially.
To win trust from customers and establish yourself as the go-to choice for your industry, you’ll need to provide valuable products or services that are different from those offered by your competitors. This will require significant effort and dedication, but if done correctly, it can lead to a prosperous career for yourself.
